Why remodel?
Homeowners were looking to transform two spaces of their home, the master bathroom, and the kitchen. They were ready to make each space more functional for day-to-day life. They called in Refresh Renovations, Renovation Consultant Ariel Gomez to review their remodel project. The homeowners expressed their wish list to Ariel, including an enlarged walk-in shower and ew linen closet for the master bathroom and upgraded/additional cabinet storage for the kitchen. Ariel listened to the homeowner's wish list, and with his team, developed a design, a budget, and a plan for the remodel. After all the preplanning was finalized, the remodel began.

Build Stage - Master Bathroom

To accommodate a new walk-in shower, the existing soaker tub was removed, along with the existing shower. Both existing vanities were also removed. A new plumbing route was installed for the new location of the enlarged walk-in shower, as well as the 1-sink vanity turning into a 2-sink vanity and the old plumbing was capped off.

Next, the new shower and linen closet was built. The new shower structure kept the existing support half wall that used to support the soaker tub, but now used as a shower bench. A new feature that was built was a shower foot niche. This is a recessed shelf in the shower wall that is used for your foot while washing for shaving. The shower was water proofed, and the linen closet received final drywall work.

In the final stages of the bathroom remodel included tiling of the shower, the bathroom receiving new paint, the shelving installed in the linen closet, the double vanity set, all plumbing fixtures installed, along with new mirrors hung.

Build Stage - Kitchen

Since the kitchen was a smaller remodel compared to the bathroom, only a light demo was needed, which included the removal of the kitchen cabinet door fronts and kitchen lightning fixtures.

For the new kitchen door fronts homeowners selected the shaker style. Similar to a picture form, the door features a recessed center panel, framed by 4 long pieces of wood. The shaker doors give the kitchen a more modern look, especially with the choice of no cabinetry hardware (pulls/handles). New cabinetry was installed on the upper cabinets to reach the ceiling, to provide additional storage space. The upper cabinets featured textured glass, also for an upgraded modern look. The kitchen received a fresh coat of paint and new lighting fixtures were installed.

Completed Remodel

Over all the homeowners were looking to add some better functionality to two of their important rooms in the house, the master bathroom and the kitchen. The Refresh Renovations team was able to bring their wish list to reality and left their home upgraded with an enlarged walk-in shower, a new linen closet, and improved kitchen cabinets. Ariel Gomez had this to say about the project…

“This was a truly enjoyable remodel! The homeowners were a pleasure to work with, and my team and I were able to fulfill every item on their wish list. Both spaces turned out fantastic, with significantly improved functionality.”
