Modern Makeover Magic: Revitalizing a Kitchen and Bathroom for Contemporary Living

Why did the homeowners want to remodel? 

Homeowners were ready to take their outdated kitchen and bathroom and transform both spaces into contemporary living spaces. They called upon Refresh Renovations Portland remodel expert, Chris Kuhr to assist them with their remodel journey. Chris and his team prepared a design, budget and plan for the remodel, once all details were confirmed Refresh Portland was underway transforming both spaces. 

Kitchen Remodel 

The kitchen layout mostly remained with the same footprint, however the homeowners did want their wall oven moved, to a location that suited their kitchen flow better. New stained wood cabinetry was installed, with classic shaker style doors and matte black hardware handles and pulls, an aesthetically pleasing combination. To tie in new stainless appliances, with matte black features, and the matte black cabinetry hardware sleek black quartz countertops were installed. 

An aspect of the homeowners previous kitchen was a wall that, to them, felt like wasted space. With this remodel they wanted to take advantage of additional cabinets and countertops for more storage, and to also have a dedicated coffee bar, which also included an under the counter mini beverage fridge. Textured white subway tile was selected for the backsplash pulling this contemporary kitchen all together. 

Bathroom Remodel

Similar aesthetics was the focus for the master bathroom. The focus areas for the bathroom were the shower, tub and more storage. The old shower was small and cramped, after the remodel the shower is a luxurious walk-in shower with built-in storage of a shower-niche. 

The homeowners were tired of their previous small and awkward jacuzzi tub, and were excited and ready for their new modern freestanding spa tub. Like the kitchen, the bathroom had a wall that was underutilized, so new cabinetry and countertops were installed, providing additional storage for the master bathroom.
