How much will my kitchen installation cost?
Your renovation specialist will work with you to come up with a design that works with your budget and priorities - whether that means installing a practical and affordable kitchen or something a little more luxurious. Kitchen renovations that stay within an existing layout tend to start from around $40,000*. Costs will increase along with layout changes, the project timeframe, materials, appliances and project specifications. For a quote accurate to your specific requirements, please consult your local renovation specialist.
*Costs are rough estimates and are subject to change. For a fixed-quote accurate to your specific project, please consult your local Refresh Renovations specialist.
Will my project require building consent?
Like-for-like kitchen remodels generally won’t require council permission, provided new sanitary plumbing and drainage fixtures don’t need to be created. Projects which require structural work, such as kitchen extensions or additions, will require council consent. If your renovation is likely to affect your neighbours or local community, resource consent may also be required. Your renovation specialist will advise you on whether or not your project will require council consent. If it does, they can take care of the planning and application process for you.
What materials can I choose from for my new kitchen?
The general recommendation is to opt for materials which are durable and easy to clean. There are so many modern options to choose from, making it easy to achieve a practical yet aesthetically pleasing kitchen. Engineered stone benchtops are a popular choice - they look luxurious and can be effortlessly wiped clean. Glass splashbacks are a great low-maintenance option and can be personalised with customisable imagery. When it comes to flooring, luxury vinyl has never been so popular - it’s durable, reasonably affordable and can be designed to look like hardwood flooring.
