Finding the right home improvement company

There had been a few home improvement projects homeowners (the Sorensen’s) were needing to get done. However, they were reluctant, as they were searching for a service that would be able to handle all aspects of the project for them, and they could be hands off. After their initial consultation with Chris Carter, a renovation consultant for Refresh Renovations Boulder, they knew they had found the right company for their project. Once Chris created the scope of work, a budget and plan for the project, the homeowners signed off, and work began!

Master bedroom - master bathroom transition

For many years, the Sorensen’s managed with the original design of the house, which consisted of an open transition between the master bedroom and master bathroom (no door between the two spaces). While they searched out different home improvement services, they tried temporary solutions, however their long term solution was for a door for the transition of the two spaces. Refresh Renovations sourced, and install a modern, 5-panel french door, that blocks out light and sound. This is exactly the home improvement the Sorensen’s were looking to achieve.

Baseboards

Most (if not all households) have baseboards, they are often made from wood (or sometimes other material), and are a board that runs between the wall and floor. They vary in size and style, and come in many different types of materials. They are a finishing feature to a room, and are used for a variety of reasons, some being; to cover the wall-floor joint, protect walls, or add decoration. Over the years, the Sorensen’s had some wear and tear to a few baseboards, so they included this in the scope of work of home improvements for Refresh Renovations to repair or replace in a variety of rooms throughout the house.

Kitchen cabinet doors

The Sorensen’s are happy with the state of their kitchen cabinets except for the door fronts, they had thermofoil failure. Thermofoil kitchen cabinet doors are made of a PVC vinyl material, applied to an MDF core with heat and vacuum pressure. The issues with this type of kitchen cabinet door can range from heat, moisture and chipping, and therefore can deteriorate a little faster than other kitchen cabinet doors. Refresh Renovations removed, disposed of the old doors, and replaced with new ones.

Summary of project

The Sorensen’s were thrilled to have found Refresh Renovations Boulder. They entrusted Chris Carter, renovation consultant for Refresh Renovations Boulder to complete numerous home improvement projects around the house. They were very pleased with the hands off approach they could take, while Chris managed the entire project from start to finish. The Sorensen’s have this to say about the project…

“Absolutely "refreshing" experience; so happy with the completed project! We hired Chris with Refresh Renovations to complete 3 projects in our home. Searching for good quality, honest contractors who show up on time, complete the job as tasked and follow through with issues should they arise, has always been a challenge from our past experiences, or should I say nightmares. Chris listened intently from the very beginning, asked questions, communicated thoroughly (including using specialty software so both of us could see together and add action items if necessary), was extremely methodical and took 3-D photos of what the Master bedroom end product would look like once finished. He vetted and hired all of the trade contractors to perform the specified tasks, all of which were professional, courteous and great at their jobs, scheduled the work around my time, and inspected each job immediately after completion. Best part, he dealt with them directly on all fronts as a Project Manager should....I just needed to let them in. If you want a change from the typical home remodel contractor, look no further!”
